EY was founded by public interest trial lawyers. The firm has focused upon public interest litigation since its inception. EY represents whistleblowers interested in uncovering wrongdoing, victims of fraud, and those illegally disadvantaged by their working conditions.  Our lawyers have succesfully represented whistleblowers in numerous False Claims Actions for over fifteen years. EY attorneys represented whistleblowers in two of the largest False Claims Act settlements in history - the $2.3 billion Pfizer off-label marketing case and the $425 million Cephalon off-label marketing case. The firm also represents whistleblowers before the IRS Tax Whistleblowers Office.  In addition to whistleblower work, the firm litigates class actions on behalf of employees who are denied pay for all hours worked and/or overtime pay under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and analogous state laws. EY Founding Partner Gerard P. Egan is a lawyers' lawyer.  After a distinguished career in government service both as an Assistant United States Attorney and Special Agent for the Internal Revenue Service's Criminal Division, Mr. Egan has applied his specialized skills and experience in the private sector on behalf of courageous individuals who have taken the extraordinary step of blowing the whistle on government fraud and abuse.  In addition, throughout his esteemed career, Mr. Egan has gained a reputation for successfully representing high profile clients in both criminal and civil cases. He is regularly called upon by Fortune 500 companies, law firms, governmental entities, labor organizations, elected officials, private citizens, political figures, and celebrities for legal counsel and representation.
